  5. Cost Estimate

Cost estimate is an exhaustive list of all items used in the interior design project, including finishing materials, furniture, electrical equipment and accessories, etc. It enables to make a budget estimate and plan expenses related with the implementation of the would-be project.

Any cost estimate items will be chosen in line with the project and within the stipulated budget. Apart from the price, their choice will be influenced by quality, compliance with the project, availability of goods, cost and time-limits of delivery. Each cost estimate item will be discussed with and approved by the customer.

The cost estimate contains an estimate for the following items:

Finishing Materials
Finishing Materials
We estimate the cost of all finishing materials used within the project, such as paints, tile, parquet, etc. If any kind of finishing is used in the project which requires involvement of auxiliary staff, the cost of their work is also taken account of (for example, the cost of labor of a decorative plaster specialist). The cost of rough work and materials is not included in our cost estimate.
Furniture
Furniture
We will pick an optimal offer available at the market for each manufactured product. We will search for custom-made furniture manufacturers and estimate the production cost.
Plumbing Fixtures
Plumbing Fixtures
We will estimate the cost of any plumbing fixtures used within the project and of accessories thereto. Our cost estimate does not include the cost of utility equipment (pipes, valves and fittings, pumps, etc.).
Lighting
Lighting
The cost estimate contains an estimation of all built-in, suspended, surface-mounted and standalone lighting fixtures used in the project.
Appliances
Appliances
We will estimate the cost of all appliances used in the project. Normally, our cost estimate contains estimations for all of the major household and built-in appliances (washing machine, refrigerator, cooking surface, etc.).
Décor
Décor
We will estimate the cost of curtains, blinds, rugs, house plants, as well as fine décor pieces used in the project.
Other Design Items
Other Design Items
The cost estimate also contains an estimation for doors, heating radiators, sockets, glass partitions and other interior design items used in the project.

Advantages of the Cost Estimate

Check
Precise Project Implementation Cost
The cost estimate enables to determine the exact project implementation cost before the construction commences.
Check
Possibility to Save Costs
Based on the cost estimate, you may see what percentage of the budget will be allocated to finishing materials, plumbing fixtures, furniture and other expenditure items. This makes possible to re-allocate the budget and save costs, where necessary.
Check
Scheduling Expenditure
As the construction will progress, items under the cost estimate will be purchased, which may take months to complete. The cost estimate will make it possible to schedule expenditure for the project implementation.
Check
Cost Estimate Required for Site Completion
The cost estimate is required for the subsequent site completion. In the absence of the cost estimate it will be impossible to timely purchase all of the items required for the project implementation.

Why the Cost Estimate isn`t a Shopping List

We always strive to create a fully detailed and current cost estimate for each project. But at this stage it is objectively impossible to approve each item.

Firstly, there are some items which can only be chosen based on paint swatches, paint chips and samples, i.e., colors of paints, textures, upholstery, etc. If we were to prepare samples and paint swatches for each cost estimate, it would take months to prepare them. Therefore, the cost estimate specifies an average monthly cost for such items.

Secondly, any positions specified in the cost estimate will be purchased in accordance with the schedule of construction. A few months to up to a year may pass from the date of estimation to the date when the procurement is made. Over that period the product may be withdrawn by the manufacturer, a price may significantly change, delivery time-limits may become unsuitable, etc., so at the Site Completion stage some items will normally have to be substituted with analogues based on the overall budget.
